Acts is not ours

Anyone who is saved today by believing the gospel, is saved and sealed, they have the gift of grace, Christ lives in them, this is a mystery, and in order for them to understand what the Lord Jesus Christ has given them they need to read Paul's letters daily. If a believer is reading a corrupt translation they will end up tossed to and fro. God has made his scriptures available for anyone who is saved today. Remember God is not the author of confusion but of peace.

Importance of Translation Methods

Here at why Paul we have compiled information to show you why reading the right translation of the bible is important, below we are going to look at a small and simple example to show the importance of words not being changed, this is neccessary as when translating a document over from one language to another , the translation must be accurate.

I am going through the river.
I am going by the river.
This example simply shows that one word being changed , will completely change the meaning of the entire sentance. By and through are 2 different prepositions. With this example in mind moving forward we can see more clearly the importance of the methods used to translate the scriptures.

Dynamic and Formal equivalence

Below are the 2 main types of methods used to translate the scriptures from the greek into the english, understanding what they are is important, if a text written is translated incorrectly it becomes corrupted, believers today need to have the right material if they want to walk and please God. Paul warned that this would happen way back 2000 years ago.

Dynamic equivalence

This method was used to translate many versions of the bible , unfortunately it is inaccurate as refeenced in the example above, they changed words into what they thought it would say rather than what it actually said for many different reasons, readers being able to understand and also for copyright issues.

Formal equivalence

Formal equivalence was a method of translation that translated the scriptures, word for word and was the method used in translating the King James Bible. This method means that they did not change the words into what they thought it said, but rather, into what it actually said.

Why do we have corrupt translations today ?

Paul wrote the exact reasons why these translations exist, the verses below provide the answer. People who are not saved are unable to please God, the spirit that now works in them is Satan. They are dead in their tresspasses and sins and cannot understand spiritual things, the god of this world has blinded their minds.
